To rent a car with Getaround, you’ll need to meet a few simple requirements, and that starts with verifying your profile. Verification is quick and easy. The documents you’ll need to have on hand to verify your profile include your driver’s license and a valid form of ID.
So, how do I verify my profile with Getaround?
Whether you choose a Getaround Connect rental or meet owner rental, you’ll first need to create and verify your profile.
Start the profile verification process by logging in to your profile via the Getaround app or on our website. Then, go to the “trip” page and click on the “Verify my profile” link. The app or website will guide you through the following steps:
- Upload a clear photo of the front and back side of your valid driver’s license.
- Upload a clear photo of the front and back side of a valid form of ID.
- Take a video selfie. (It’s easy! Our verification system will guide you through it, step-by-step.)
Before you submit your documents and video for verification, make sure all the personal information on your license and ID are valid and accurate and that they match the information you’ve entered into your profile. We recommend double-checking items like your date of birth, license number, and license issue and expiration date.
Make sure you start the verification process well in advance of your trip, as it can take up to 24 hours to verify your profile. We may also need to request additional documents or information from you before finalizing the verification process.

If your profile verification was rejected, please check your email and spam folder to see if we have requested additional documentation.
