Everything owners need to know about the new Getaround app

Last month, we rolled out the new Getaround app nationwide. You may have already noticed the new features and updated functionality of the platform. To help you get the most out of the upgraded app, we’ve detailed the key updates below!
In-depth insights
The new owner performance dashboard shows your earnings, rentals, and ratings in more detail than ever before.
Seamless payments
If you’ve updated your bank info in your profile (and double-checked that it’s correct), you should start receiving payments via direct deposit. No more processing fees and delays associated with the third-party payment system used in the old app.
Team capabilities
Fleet owners can now add team members and assign specific roles, helping streamline your business operations.
Unified communication
Manage all your reservations, message drivers directly, and report claims, damage, and cleanliness issues all in the same place — the new Getaround app.
Owner cancellations and "snoozing" cars
No need to contact customer support. In the new app, you’re in total control of owner cancellations and approval requests. With the new Snooze Car function, you can hide your listings from search results for however long you need.
Switching cars
If you have multiple cars listed on Getaround, you can now offer drivers an alternative vehicle in situations where the original is no longer available. Doing this without having to cancel the rental improves customer retention.
Other changes in the new app
In addition to the exciting new features listed above, there are some other notable updates you be aware of as we drive into 2024:
- Car filter options have been updated to include new options like EVs, number of seats, etc. Be sure to review the new options to ensure accuracy in your listings.
- The Getaround Connect® Immobilizer (formerly Enhanced Security) is now an always-on feature. Learn more about the Immobilizer here.
- Predictive pricing — designed to optimize earnings — will now be used for all cars listed on Getaround.
- Claims filing will now take place through the new platform on the Rental page, rather than over the phone.
- CarSync is no longer supported in the Getaround app.
