Security and traffic perimeters during the Olympic Games in Paris
This summer, the government will implement security and traffic perimeters during the Games. Paris will be divided into two zones. Please note that during the Olympic Games, Place de la Concorde will be completely closed to traffic. Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars will be heavily restricted.
Getting to the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics by car
For the first time in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Opening Ceremony will take place outside the stadiums. Instead, most of the ceremony will be held on the Seine. If you're renting a car in Paris, you should know that starting July 20, a first security perimeter will be set up along the Seine. This means that you will not be able to drive or park near the river. The day of the Opening Ceremony, on July 26, the perimeter will be extended: the entire area around the Seine will be closed.
