For the first time in history, amateur athletes will experience the same course as the Olympic Marathon. Like the Olympic Games, the Marathon Pour Tous will be a parity event and Paris will aim to give as many starting numbers to women as to men.

Paris Marathon Pour Tous: the emblematic marathon distance

As mentioned above, the first marathon format will be run on the same course as the Olympic athletes. It will be a 42.195 km race. The marathon is open to all those who dream of surpassing themselves. It will be an exceptional moment to run on a course that will also be the stage for the exploits of men and women athletes competing for the Olympic marathon medals.

The marathon is open to anyone over the age of 20. The Marathon Pour Tous will start in front of the Hôtel de Ville, one of the Olympic venues. The event will finish on the Esplanade des Invalides, another Olympic venue. Paris expects 20,024 participants for this unforgettable experience. The marathon will start at 9 p.m. and will pass through 9 cities:

Paris Marathon Pour Tous: the accessible to all event

During the Marathon Pour Tous, another format will be introduced. It will be a shorter distance than the 42 km format. This 10 km marathon will also take place at night on August 10, 2024. The 10 km will follow a route rich in monuments and emblematic sites in the heart of Paris. A variety of events will be proposed to give everyone an intense and unforgettable experience.

An event open to all during the Paris Olympic Games

Two races will be held on August 10, 2024. A 42.195 km marathon and a 10 km marathon will be offered to anyone who wishes to participate. If you want to participate in either race, you can, but there are some age restrictions. For the 42 km marathon, you must be 20 of age or older. For the 10 km marathon, you must 16 of age or older.

Donated clothes will be refurbished and given a second life by the association.

An app is available to register for the event: 'Marathon Pour Tous Paris 2024". Or you can go to the Club Paris 2024 website. Nearly 40,000 people will be selected.

Traffic restrictions in Paris during the Olympic Marathon and the Marathon Pour Tous

You may be wondering how to get around Paris during the Games. Well, a security and traffic perimeter will be set up. On August 10 and 11, 2024, three marathons will take place on the same course, linking the Hôtel de Villes to Versailles: the Men's Marathon, the Marathon pour Tous and the Women's Marathon.
