Check your rental eligibility
Firstly, to hire a vehicle with Getaround you should check your eligibility, this will ensure that your profile will be verified. To rent a car on Getaround, you need to meet certain conditions so that your trips will be covered by insurance every time.
Create an account: Sign me up!
Creating an account is easy, you just need to register with your name and email information.
Verify your profile
To verify your profile, open the Getaround app to start the verification and check the verification status. You will need to:
- Upload photos of your original license (front and back).
- Upload photos of your original ID (front and back) according to your driving license issuing country.
- Take a selfie video, guided by our verification system.
- Check that your personal information is accurate. Your birth date, license number, and all the information in your account need to match your ID and license.
Book a rental: Let's hit the road!
Once your account is all set, you can rent a car in just a few steps:
- Search for a car: Choose what day, and use your current location or enter an address or airport where you'll need a car. You can also set filters for certain types of cars or features you need.
- Select a car: Choose a mileage package, select a protection plan and a payment method, and pay. You're all set!
- Pick up the car: Follow the instructions to access the car, and make sure to take all of the necessary photos during your inspection. Unlock the car with your phone and the keys will be inside.
- Return the car: Drive the car back to the agreed location with the same level of fuel it had at the start. Leave the keys inside the car and lock the door with your phone.
- Review the car and your trip: You'll be able to leave a public review as well as send private feedback to the owner.
