For longer trips, I recommend planning a charging opportunity approximately every 60–70 km. This gives you a comfortable safety margin and avoids arriving at a charger with a nearly empty battery.

💡 The dashboard range estimate changes based on recent driving, so use it as a guide rather than a guaranteed distance.

Uphill driving, high speed, cold weather and heating increase consumption. Downhill driving can recover some energy through regenerative braking.

⚡ Charging – Important

This ZOE uses Type 2 AC charging only.

It does not support CCS/DC fast charging, so modern 50 / 150 / 300 kW DC chargers will not work with this car unless the station also has a separate Type 2 AC outlet.

The ZOE Q210 can use:

22 kW AC Type 2 – roughly 35–45 min from 20–80%
43 kW AC Type 2 – roughly 20–30 min from 20–80%

Charging speed can vary depending on battery temperature, state of charge and the charging station.

🇳🇴 Important in Norway – TN / IT networks

Early Renault ZOE models can have difficulty charging from some installations using the Norwegian IT electrical network.

For road trips, the safest option is generally to look for public Type 2 AC chargers, preferably 22 kW or 43 kW, on a compatible TN installation.

22 kW public Type 2 chargers are generally a good option to look for, but always verify the charger before relying on it.

Before driving to a charger:

✅ Confirm that it offers Type 2 AC
✅ Prefer 22 kW or 43 kW AC
✅ Check that the charger is currently operational
✅ Check recent user comments if available
✅ Have a backup Type 2 charger nearby
✅ Do not wait until the battery is almost empty before looking for a charger
✅ Make sure charging has actually started before leaving the car

💡 Important: Do not choose a charger only because it says 50 / 150 / 300 kW. Those are usually DC chargers and are not compatible with this ZOE.

🚗 Longer Trips

Longer trips are absolutely possible, but they require some planning.

A good rule for this car is:

Start with 80–100% → drive ~60–70 km → charge → continue.

On longer trips, look ahead for Type 2 AC chargers every ~50–70 km and keep at least one backup option before the battery becomes low.

You do not necessarily need to charge to 100% at every stop. Shorter charges to around 70–80% are often more practical.
