Offering the driver a different car

Is your car no longer available? If you have several cars registered on Getaround, you can switch it with one of these other cars without cancelling the rental.

To do this, go to the rental page and click on “Replace the car”.

Please note that you cannot switch to a car of another category due to insurance reasons, and that only the cars available on the rental dates will be suggested. Also note that the rental price will remain the same.

The switch takes place immediately – it does not require confirmation by the driver. We will then inform them by email. However, do consider checking with the driver that the new car still suits them – after a car switch, the driver can cancel the rental without incurring any charges, and in this case you will not receive compensation.
