Guide to discounts

This article applies only to European countries where Getaround operates.

To stay competitive with professional rental agencies, we automatically apply discounts to the base rate of the rental. This starts from the second day of the rental (after 24.5 hours).

Viewing your discounts

To see your car’s discounts, go to the price section on your car’s page. Here you’ll see the discounts applied for 2-day, 7-day, and 30-day rentals. Based on those discounts, we use a progressive calculation to determine the discounts that will apply for other durations (view the graph on your car price page).

Adjusting your discounts

You can adjust the discount rates for 2-day, 7-day, and 30-day within a certain minimum and maximum value. To increase the likelihood of drivers booking your car, we suggest applying our recommended discount rates, which are based on the type of car (or van) and whether it’s equipped with Getaround Connect.

How do we calculate our discount recommendations?

Our recommendations are based on your car type, location, and whether it’s equipped with Getaround Connect. We review these recommendations before each high or low season to align with the latest demand trends. This ensures your prices are competitive with external competition, such as traditional rental agencies.

You can’t deactivate discounts, but you can set a maximum rental duration in your car’s rental conditions.

The maximum and minimum discounts you can set for your car are as follows:

For cars registered in any country except Norway:

• 2-day discount: between 10% and 49%
• 7-day discount: between 25% and 85%
• 30-day discount: between 35% and 96%

For cars registered in Norway:

• 2-day discount: between 0% and 49%
• 7-day discount: between 5% and 85%
• 30-day discount: between 25% and 96%

Get the most out of your discounts

To increase your chances of getting long rentals, activate the automatic discount update. This will automatically adjust your discount rates based on our latest recommendations. This ensures that your pricing is always aligned with market trends, keeping your long-term rental prices competitive throughout the year.

Note: If you’ve activated Smart Pricing, you can’t deactivate the automatic discount updates.
