The driver is responsible for any traffic ticket that occurred during the rental. But if there is a ticket it will be sent to the address registered on the licence plate.

For Getaround Connect rentals, the driver is also responsible for infractions received due to bad parking for 24 hours after the end of the rental, however they are not responsible for paying the car parking.

What to do if you receive a citation

  • Look at the time at which the citation was given
  • Find the correct rental
  • Open the rental page tap on "Penalty notice received during the rental" to upload a copy of the original ticket and proof of payment.
  • Please note that you have up to 90 days from the rental end time to submit your infraction request

Depending on if the citation, you'll either have to pay it back or transfer the citation to your local authorities. If you have to front the cost, you'll be refunded and Getaround will recover the cost from the driver.
