You must:

Meet the minimum age and years of licence conditions for the car you’re renting (see below).
Be able to pay for the rental with a credit card in your name. In Germany and Austria, you can also pay with your PayPal account. More information on accepted payment methods here.
Be present for the check-in and the check-out.
Not use the car for commercial purposes, like taxi driving. You can, however, use the car to carpool.
Verify your profile.
Cars are divided into three categories (4 for France and Norway) (eco, comfort, privilege and prestige) depending on model and age. Most cars belong to the eco category, whilst the comfort and privilege and prestige categories are reserved for high-end cars. Different levels of access and deductibles apply depending on categories, which will be detailed under the description of the car during your booking.

For all rentals on Getaround, you will need to ensure that your license has been validated by Getaround before starting the rental.
Key Exchange (Meet Owner) rentals
Even though your profile must be verified by Getaround before you can begin your rental, you will still need to present the original of your driving license (no photocopy or declaration of loss/theft) to the owner during the checkin process.
Without your original driving license document, you cannot rent. Declarations of loss, preliminary licenses or copies of the driving license are hence not allowed. You have to cancel the rental and warn the owner as soon as possible.
